about ubg

Some people might wonder why a girl without a bike would have the ball bearings to do art about women on bikes. Others would come up with some long drawn out overblown psychoanalysis to explain it.  I'm more of a "cut to the chase" kind of person, so here's the story.

My late husband was a rider; he introduced me to Sunday afternoons in the wind, and the smell of cold on leathers, and gremlin bells, and the absolute trust of riding with someone you love. Well, in the way of good things that just don't get to last long enough, I found myself without him in my life. After he passed, I made it a goal of mine that I would ride again, this time on my own.

In the meantime, I rediscovered an old muse; digital art. Every time I went into any place that had bike posters, calendars, etc., I never saw women represented as anything more than silicone in a thong. I wanted to see women portrayed in a stronger, more independent light. I started to ask other female riders I knew if they had similar desires; thus, the "Urban Biker Goddess" series was born.

I've been fortunate; I've remarried to a wonderful man who appreciates all the goddesses in his new family, and shares my enthusiasm for motorcycles, and I've met many new and wonderful people thru my art.  I've had the opportunity to make other people's lives better by donating my art to charity, and overall, it's been a wonderful experience.

If you like the UBG line, please feel free to buy calendars, postcards, whatever moves you. Tell your friends about us, tell anyone you know who loves motorcycles, whether cruisers, sport bikes, motocross - my inspirations span a bit of all these fields. Thanks for stopping by.
